WHO’S THE COURSE FOR?
This course is for scaffolders who have at least 6 months site experience, and require further training to progress towards competence for the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of intermediate scaffold structures.COURSE AIMS AND BENEFITS
To provide candidates with the necessary skills to progress towards competence for the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of intermediate scaffold structures. At the end of the course candidates should have knowledge of:- The correct and safe methods of erecting, altering and dismantling independent scaffolds incorporating prefabricated beams, loading bays, splays, protection fans & cantilever sections.
- The safe erection, alteration and dismantling of these scaffolds and the work methods to be adopted.
- Determining the material requirements for independent scaffolds incorporating prefabricated beams, loading bays, splays, protection fans and cantilever sections.
- Laying out materials, interpreting simple drawings, setting out the scaffolds and overcoming obstacles to erect the scaffold safely.
- Constructing scaffolds following safe systems of work.

- Cantilever sections on scaffolds.
- Scaffolds with prefabricated beams.
- Protection fans.
- Loading bays.
- Roof edge protection.
- Fixing of ties.
- Alterations. (e.g. removing standards from a structure)
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Candidate should have completed the Safe Erection and Dismantling of Scaffolds Part A and have a minimum of six months’ site experience.TRAINING METHOD
